The Law of Patterns

“An object at rest tends to remain at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless subjected to an outside force.”
Sir Isaac Newton (First Law of Motion)
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Albert Einstein

Once upon a time, there was a man named Atlas ignoring the Law of Patterns. He was in his late twenties, seeking a lasting relationship. Unfortunately, all his previous relations broke up after a maximum of one year. His current one was at the nine-month mark and started to crumble.

Altas’ partner urged him to take the next step by moving together, thus fully committing. However, terror overwhelmed his mind, creating anxiety about losing his dear freedom and boundaries. As always, the more the partner pushed, the more he made walls to protect himself. She even recommended he work on himself and look at his shadows.” What bullshit”, he thought, “I don’t need any of that at all”. Atlas thought that people who look inside and do self-development are not sane, so they must do this work.

One day, he left work and walked home, the same way as every day, immersed in his patterns and behaviors. He constantly looked at his phone, barely noticing the traffic. Then, in an unthoughtful step onto the street, a careless driver who came around the corner hit him unconscious. A bright light came through an open doorway. A deep feeling of humility overcame him. Deprived of his five senses, he felt more connected to the universe than ever. Atlas saw himself in oneness as an integral part of creation for the first time ever. He instantly knew that the cosmos inside himself, which he had successfully neglected for a long time, was the only one.

When he opened his eyes, a crowd of people stood around him. Ambulance sounds rang in the distance. Miraculously, except for a few scratches, nothing happened to him. After a quick checkup, he went home.

Atlas fully committed to his partner and started self-development practices. He even joined his partner’s Yoga and Meditation class. As a result, their relationship deepened beyond his wildest dream because, for the first time, he went deep inside himself.

This story tells us that a cataclysmic event is often essential to breaking our patterns, habits, and beliefs. A big slap will eventually hit us if we don’t listen to the universe’s little nudges.

We, humans, did not only get our head so it does not rain into the neck. We got it to use it. Furthermore, we can create very complex thought patterns and constructs. Still, our survival mechanism does everything to keep us in a safe zone. Whatever we did so far kept us alive, so it must be good. No matter how unhealthy our patterns are, they help us to survive. As a result, we ignore the Law of Patterns.

But what if we don’t only want to survive? What if we want to thrive? As babies, we depend on our parents. As a result, we do everything so they like us. This habit continues in kindergarten and school. Already, by a young age, our whole life is defined by patterns. Not all are healthy, but we keep repeating them until something drastically changes. This cataclysmic event is becoming conscious of being unconscious. It can be something minuscule as a sentence by a stranger that triggers something within us. Contrarily, it can also be a near-death experience, bringing us closer to who we truly are.

The wisdom of ancient Alchemy and its 7-step system helps purify all unhealthy patterns and behaviors. By purging everything that does not belong to us, we can rewire our brains by creating new healthy patterns disentangled from the old rigid structures.
